USWNT's Ashlyn Harris Files for Divorce from Ali Krieger After Nearly 4 Years of Marriage

USWNT's Ashlyn Harris Files for Divorce from Ali Krieger After Nearly 4 Years of Marriage

Ashlyn Harris, a goalkeeper for the US Women's National Soccer Team and Gotham FC, has filed for divorce from her wife, Ali Krieger, a defender for the Orlando Pride. The couple, who married in 2019, have two children together.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Harris filed for divorce in Florida on September 19, 2023, stating that the marriage is "irretrievably broken." The documents also note that the estranged couple "anticipate" entering a settlement that will "resolve all financial issues."

Harris and Krieger have not publicly commented on the divorce, but they have both shared cryptic messages on social media in recent weeks. On October 10, Harris posted a photo of herself with her two children, with the caption, "My everything." Krieger, meanwhile, posted a photo of herself with a quote that read, "Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is let go."

Harris and Krieger's divorce comes just months after they announced that they were retiring from the USWNT. The two players were key members of the team that won the World Cup in 2015 and 2019.

Harris and Krieger's relationship has been a public one since they started dating in 2011. They have been vocal advocates for LGBTQ+ rights, and their marriage was seen as a landmark moment for LGBTQ+ athletes.

While their divorce is sad news, it is important to remember that Harris and Krieger are still a family. They have two young children together, and they have both said that they are committed to co-parenting amicably.
